Updates with Impact: New Patient Experience Improvement Module

Today we released a new Patient Experience Improvement Module, available to residency programs using the emergency medicine resident Qbank. The goal of this module is to equip providers with the interpersonal tools to enhance the patient experience. Formal education on this topic is lacking in most residency curricula, so we are introducing this to spark a new era in medical education where humanism and customer service in medicine are given special attention.

Dr. Gunalda is an emergency medicine physician certified through the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He completed his EM residency at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. After completing residency, he went back home to Jackson, MS where he served as medical student Clerkship Director at the University of Missippi Medical Center for 4 years. He is is now Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Associate Program Director at UMMC. His expertise includes curriculum design, innovative instructional methods, board review preparation, student assessment, and patient experience improvement.
